An East Bay sunset maternity session full of golden hour light, soft hillside views, and sweet family moments with Montse, Daniel,and pipa

I met Montse, Daniel, and their sweet puppy Pipa at a beautiful park in the East Bay at sunset. There’s something about golden hour here that makes maternity sessions feel like pure magic, it wraps everything in a soft, warm glow and makes every photo feel like it’s glowing from the inside out. We had the sweetest time photographing this little family of soon-to-be-three (plus their four-legged firstborn) as the sun went down behind the hills.

I love how everything came together. In the weeks leading up to the shoot, we went back and forth over text talking through colors and silhouettes that would not only flatter Montse’s bump but also reflect who they are as a couple, while complementing the East Bay’s golden hills and soft, dreamy light. We landed on several outfits that photographed like an absolute dream against the sunset. I find that collaborating with couples on their wardrobe can make such a difference in how the final images feel.

    Becca was incredible to work with on my maternity photo shoot. Being 39 weeks pregnant, I was a bit worried that I couldn’t last very long out there. I was super at ease with her caring, fun, and inspired demeanor. She made our experience super fun and easy. My partner, dog, and I felt like we were hanging out with a great friend in a beautiful setting at sunset. She made me feel really comfortable and cared for. I don’t remember her ever telling us to “smile”, which really just happened organically. Her presence and ability to capture our true selves was incredible.
    After seeing the photos, I was truly blown away at how authentically she captured our personalities, the environment, and our loving connection. I would recommend her to anyone looking to capture a special time in the most beautiful and genuine way. Thank you Becca!
